I don't want to give the impression these are factory ivories. In my original post I stated the original stocks were made of Goncalo alves. I have them in the clamshell case for this revolver with its accessories and papers.

Beautiful gun, Bill!
I bet that is one of those "If you have to ask the price you can't afford it" type of guns there!

After 50 years of drooling over handguns, that may just be the perfect revolver! Nothin prettier than a 5in N frame. Congrats!

I believe the 5" barrel N frame is the perfect revolver. I don't
know why they didn't make more of them. The only 5" guns
I owned were 27s.

DOC OK so there not original and I am thinking you will need to get them off that nice revolver ASAP. Now I will help you and request your address so I can send a check for them and help you feel better about putting the right grips back on your gun. Will 500.00 do it. JIM

Bakebfr480...The 29-2 shoots very well. I have taken it to the range several times over the last twenty-five years.

Several members here are very high end collectors and I have seen some S&Ws posted that were beyond words. But this 29-2 with a rare barrel length and unbelievable stocks may take the cake with its stunning beauty and elegance. The simplicity is overwhelming.
I'm not a 44 Magnum guy but I am very envious of this revolver. Bravo.

Absolutely stunning revolver. Did you fire it at the range? I don’t see even a hint of a turn line. Very impressive.

Two sets of smooth target ivories were purchased in the early 60s by a friend of mine from a vendor in Texas. I purchased the sets from him in 1999. About five years ago, I sent one of the sets to Keith Brown and asked him the checker the panels in the coke bottle style.
