Default WHICH TYPE GRIPS?

Looking for a set of k frame target checkered grips for a model 10-6 square butt. This is NOT a WTB just yet. Need to know if I need the relieved or flat type. Something period correct & factory issued would be preferred. ANY help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Extractor or "football" cutout would be correct, but few (if any) model 10-6s came from the factory with that style.

Nacho, I just wrote a short reply in another Model 10 thread. I am adding the same picture as I did in that thread with this comment - I plan to change the stocks on this gun eventually. If these stocks will work for you I will be happy to arrange for them to get to you but it will be awhile. My guns are all in storage due my April house fire. But get back to me next Spring and I think we can work it out.

Thumbs up THANKS FOR THE OFFER YODA.

I have feeling loss in the hands & is why I switched to goodyears, they helped me with a consistent grip w/o slipping. I figured after finding some rust that a checkered target style might fit & stay put. Thanks but smoothies won't cut it. I've found several online but am not sure if I need the relieved ones, or if the flat inside ones would work.

The Model 10-6 was produced from 1962 - 1977. Target stocks for this date range would be either the diamond center football relief cut or the non-diamond center relief cut, depending on the date of the gun in question. The diamond center relief stocks date up through approximately 1967. Non-diamonds date from around 1967 through 1978.

Thus, a 10-6 with serial number up to K779xxx would be period correct with the diamond relief cut. Higher serial numbers would be period correct with the non-diamond relief cut. Target stocks with the speed loader cut began being used in the 1978 date range, which is after the Model 10-6.

I have no personal experience with them, but lots of folks really like the addition of a Tyler T-grip on guns with magna stocks.
