Default Found a 67!

I've been watching for a decent 67 for a while, and found this 67-1 today:

Serial 25K93XX, grips numbered to gun, DA is 9.75 lbs, SA is 3 lbs. Clean, ain't it? Excuse me, I have to go shoot it now.

I would suggest a strain screw be installed before you shoot it...

It's there, just can't see it in the photos. It's even stainless like it should be, so I don't know why it's invisible.

Andy, good for you. I am also glad that you are going to use and maintain your now model 67, as intended by the factory.

Yes, it was a hoot. Shoots very well indeed-- the only other revolver I have that could match it is a 6" 19. I should have taken some photos of the targets, but didn't think of it-- maybe next time.

I only have one firearm I haven't shot yet, and that's only because I haven't gotten around to setting up the press for it. It's an H&R from the late 1880s, in .38 S&W, so I need to figure out a black powder load for it. I have the dies, brass, powder, and bullets for it, but apparently not the time.

It's on the front strap of the grip, towards the bottom. Looks like an empty hole in the photo, though the screw really is there. It puts pressure on the mainspring to keep it taut.

Of all the guns I've sold, the Model 67 that I bought for a project then couldn't use, and then sold just to get my money back, haunts me... it was as sweet a carry piece as one could imagine and had a trigger that still brings a smile when I remember it. Oh well, you can't have them all, if you did, where would you keep them?

Froggie

Default Congrats!

Congrats! I carried a Model 67 on duty for many years. It was the perfect duty revolver and the most accurate revolver I have ever owned. Only stopped carrying it when we got approved to carry .357 Magnum ammo. Traded that Model 67 towards a Model 65 3 inch and regret it to this day. Enjoy that one!

67s are sweet indeed. Here's my no dash. Got it 15 or 20 years ago.
It was badly pitted, so I got a deal. Bead blasted it. I like the finish.
I also like black grips on silver guns. These are Butler Creek/Uncle Mike's
designed by Craig Spegel.
