Model 13-2 PPC Bill Davis
Saw this at the local gun shop yesterday. I have an A.F.Behlert PPC revolver made on a pre-Model 14. This one is a Model 13-2. This piece is way heavier than my revolver, as it has a top rib and a weight below the barrel. As with mine it is DAO as the hammer has been ground off. Interesting piece. Have harbored thoughts of buying it, but can't justify having two of them. Especially since I do not shoot PPC.

Probably a very accurate target gun. It looks like the bottom rib has shifted forward, most likely an easy fix. A lot of times you can get a PPC gun cheaper than a regular gun, as few people want them now.

PPC
I own two of Bill’s PPC guns, I competed in PPC for twenty years. Davis revolvers were top of the line competition guns, as was Behlert’s. I still shoot mine occasionally for old times sake, both have over 150,000 wadcutters through them and they will both shoot “ rat holes” at 50 and 25 yards.

I don't have a Bill Davis PPC gun but I really like the grips he designed. They were $18.00 on his site now $25.00.
They fit my hand and with the upper an lower screws no chance of interference with main spring.

I've always loved those guns! If I lived in the area I would go have a look. Looks like a real shooting machine!

My Behlert weighs in a 2 pounds 13.5 ounces. The 13-2 is at least 1 pound heavier. Getting to old to hold these up for that long. http://smith-wessonforum.com/138840326-post1.html Pictures : http://smith-wessonforum.com/138840409-post4.html

Those look like nice grips on your gun. My Behlert wears S&W Combat grips a friend of mine gave me. Love them. http://smith-wessonforum.com/138844277-post4.html

Local cops shot PPC matches on the indoor basement range at my sportsman's club in my formative years. They didn't mind if I watched and so I did, a whole lot. When it was time for me to buy my first handgun with my own cash, it was a 6-inch 686-3 and probably because it kinda looked like their PPC rigs.
Fast forward 25-30 years and PPC guns are appearing on the used market and they don't have a lot of demand... which makes for some fantastic buys. I have three and have talked two buddies each in to one. Between us, there's two Bill Davis, one Travis Strahan and one Ron Power/Power Custom.
Of the five, four are S&W. My Davis Custom is actually a "Cougar", a Python barrel mated to a much-worked over Ruger Police Service Six. Of the five revolvers... all five of them demand handloads using Federal primers. I have experimented with them to make them hit harder to use CCI reliably, but doing so takes so much away from the jaw-dropping double action stroke that ultimately I decided to simply feed them Federal primers.
The double action trigger on any of these five revolvers can and will alter or ruin your idea of a double action trigger on "normal" revolvers. If you have never experienced one... well it is honestly like unscrewing the strain screw on a K-frame to the point where you are certain that your gun won't work.
