M28-2 rear sight blade
Anyone know what rear sight blade is used on a 28-2 6" ? Mine is a bit dinged. Not enough to cause problems shooting it. It just bugs me. Thank you

From what little I know about S&W revolver sight blades, they come with different heights. Likely you'll need a blade the same height as the one you have now. There's a you tube video showing how to remove and install the new blade by Larry Potterfield, CEO of MidwayUSA. The blade kit comes with the blade, windage screw, and retaining nut. A worthwhile project if your blade is badly dinged.

Both the 4" and 6" 28s had a rear sight blade height of .136"
I hope that this helps;
Mike

I replaced the sight blade today. I got tools from Brownells. The sight blade, windage screw,and nut came from Numrich. Thanks to the forum for proper blade height.

Congratulations! Especially if you didn't have to hunt down a lost spring and plunger.

MidwayUSA also has the sight parts. A little cheaper too. Found out after the fact. It's ok Numrich shipped very fast.
