Default Year of Manufacture: K-38

Guys, I've owned this handgun for about 40 years. Bought it for $100 from another NYPD officer. Serial number: K 2788XX.

Beautiful shooter. Wonderful trigger. Very accurate.

Can any one tell me the year of manufacture?

Thanks!

Rich
