A Highway Patrolman 28-2 sn#; s281xxx should be a square butt or round butt? Thanks in advance

If you found one with a round butt somebody did a conversion on it. I looked at a round-butt 27 at a gun show once that somebody converted from square to round. The dealer told me that it was factory. He was wrong. I passed on it.

Can’t imagine big fat N frame duty guns from before 1967 were made in round butt.

The HP was offered with a square butt grip frame only.
