Default M27-2 Replaced Grips

A little over a year ago I happened upon a M28-2 in 99% minty condition with these diamond targets on it. The "only" reason I paid $550 for it was the grips. I never pay that for a M28, but figured the grips were worth at least $250 justifying the price. The grips are a bit too nice, so I figure they have been refinished or at lease touched up. Put on a correct set of targets and threw these diamonds in my box o' grips. Today I was looking at my M27-2, also in 99% condition, and figured the old diamonds might look good on it. The grips pre-date the gun by about 5 years since the gun is circa 1972. They actually look pretty good on the M27. I only have $300 in the M27. Old story, but 2 years back I happened upon a M19-P in very high grade for three bills. I didn't much like the gun, but it was a rare one. Traded it even for the M27-2 which I would never have been able to afford. Later the new owner sold off the 19-P for close to $2K. So everybody is happy and I got the gun I wanted.

Yeah, the 19-P had fixed sights and Pach grips. Smith made a few for Peru back around 1988. Had some left over and shipped them to Germany to be sold there. How one turned up at a pawn shop in Middle Georgia is beyond me.

DocB, You sound like a real horse trader except it is Smiths instead of Colts.

Nice looking grips to boot without spurs. (Pun intended)
