Personally if I had that revolver, I'd have to keep it for a few years an extensively test it to make sure it was safe to pass down to my child. You never know about these awesome, beautiful classic old K-22's. But that's just me.

“I’m going to give this one to one of my daughters.”
Sounds to me like you have cause to go shopping for another couple of K-22s. Maybe one for each daughter and of course one to keep, then we have to get ready for grandchildren... one can never have too many nice Smiths “for the family.”

I have 4 daughters. My oldest wants a .22 for target shooting so I think should should be a good one for that, if she likes the feel of it.
My other 3 daughters are not sure what they want so I'll keep looking til I ind something that they might like.
I also picked up a 686 and that is what I'm looking forward to shooting.

Rubiranch, when I took my youngest niece (then about 20 yrs old) to her gun safety class she used the J-frame that would eventually be hers, then after the class in a general shooting session to try out various guns, she got to try my High Standard Tournament target pistol. She can shoot the lights out with that one! Yep, she has a claim on that one when her old bachelor uncle goes to the big range in the sky!

PS Model 34s and 63s seem particularly attractive to the more petite of our young female relatives. Just sayin'...

I also have a very nice (90%) 35-1 target model with a 6" barrel, another really nice (90%) SS 63 with adjustable sights.
I will let her take her pick.
