Default Help with my S&W 32 Long Revolver

I have a revolver I am not sure what to do with. I have a stainless 32 Long revolver and I am not sure when it was made as I am not that good with this type of firearm. The serial number on the bottom of the grip is H3541. Any idea what year this was made or if it is worth anything?

Thank you

The gun in question is a nickel model 30 or 31 from 1971-1972 time frame.

jbfields21: The gun isn't stainless, maybe nickle plated or hard chrome. It looks like there may be some pitting or roughness right there on the S&W logo. I can't tell for sure, It looks as if the hammer and trigger are plated to me. If that's so, its definitely not the original finish.
The serial number should have 5 digits after the H. Best guess with that serial number would be 1971-72.
The J-frame .32s do have a following and the 4" guns are popular. However, that gun in that condition, my guess at value would be $250-300. I wouldn't pay more than that.

Welcome to the forum.

You have a 32 Regulation Police from the 1st year of production, 1969 which is why there are only 4 numeric digits; the # range began at H01.

It's a Model 31-1 J frames with an aftermarket finish; most likely hard chrome or armalloy.

It has no collector value like an original finish model in its excellent condition would have. But it may have some premium over a normal refinished same model because of the premium grade custom re-finish, to someone who desires the finish. That's difficult to guess. An estimate would be in the $500-$600 ball park.
