Gentlemen
I recently acquired a new to me model 66-1 and I'd like to find out when it was manufactured. The serial # is 58 K244 0
Any assistance you could provide would be much appreciated.

Looks like your serial number falls to 1980. In that year they went from 57K to mid 91K serial numbers.
Model 66's are great shooting wheel guns.

thank you
Gentlemen
I appreciate the feedback.
Just for the record, this isn't my first S&W, just the first one I had a question to which I couldn't find the answer. Sitting in the safe along side this one is a 29-2, a 41 and a circa 1902, .38 safety hammerless (4th mod). I enjoy them all.
Best regards,

"smith & wesson revolver serial numbers"
By typing this in Goggle search, my first choice is a link to a site that many of us use to answer this and many other questions.
