It depends. Blue? Nickel? Wood stocks? Box, papers and tools? Condition? It could be $200. It could be $700. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum!

The Model 34 is built on the I frame and the serial #s got to ~ #70,XXX.

A Model 34-1 is a J frame. They were introduced Oct. 1960 at ~ #70,XXX, and the -1 was added.

So there's a problem with your #5728X being a Model 34-1.

Did you get that # from the gun butt?
If it came from the yoke with cyl opened, and doesn't match the # on the butt, it's the assembly and no help for the value.

There's quite a difference in value depending on if it's an I frame or J frame.
