Default Simple 68'

I recently acquired this 10-5 that dates to 1968. I've owned several 10's over the years, but I always let them go. Now that I'm older (and hopefully wiser) I wanted just the simple pencil 4" model 10. I've kept my eye out for a few years now, and this one popped-up at a local shop. No great bargain ($400), but I didn't want to wait any longer. Grips are serial numbered to the gun. Action is excellent with tight lock-up. Probably fired very little.

Took it to the range today. Did OK with 158 gr. SWC's, but it really liked the new Remington Golden Saber 125 gr. BJHP. Which is good, as that would be my carry load for it.

The Tyler is actually for an N frame, but it seems to fit fine on this.

There's actually some pitting on this from the prior owners poor method of storage, but I can live with it.

Default Nice!

Looks nice. Classic revovler that will still get the job done. Here is my Model 10-5 that at some point had a TT/TH installed. Wish is had service trigger and hammer, but will leave it how I got it. Enjoy that one!

I miss the days my old dealer had literally pails full of trade in model tens for well under $200. I have had probably a half dozen over the years but they went away at one time or another. I am looking for one again and will hold on this time. Prefer the classic taper barrel look.

I love the four-inch 10-5. I miss the one I sold to an elderly neighbor who was moving to the country and wanted it for a house gun.

I like the look of the standard barrel, but I also prefer the balance over a heavy barrel.

The price is about right for a gun in that condition. I would like it in my safe.
