Default S&W Model 34-1 Help

I'm looking to buy this pistol from a lady and want to offer her a fair price for it. (Fair for her and myself) I have a number in mind, but please... you can help me with the date range and maybe a ball park price I would be externally grateful!

The Serial number is: 117452 and is a 2" Blued revolver.

I don't have anywhere I can post pics, unfortunately... but let's just say it looks very nice. Maybe a small, and I mean very small number of rusty spots that have cleaned up nicely. It's been sitting in a drawer since she's owned it. I've brought it home and cleaned it. Haven't shot it yet, but there's no reason to believe that it won't fire.

Pictures speak a thousand words, $400, a real shot in the dark but with rust mentioned it would be a tough call and subject to the standards of the buyer. Rust never sleeps and I would avoid any rust at all cost. A gift on the other hand.....

I think $400 is a bit low, but not stealing it, I guess. If you can swing a little more, if anything is ever said about the price, you’ll have reason to sleep more soundly if you can be a little more generous. Particularly if she is older and on a fixed income, or really needs the money, I’d offer her a little more if I felt the condition of the gun justified it. Maybe $500 (gun only)? JMHO.

Any idea as to the date? I'm assuming before 1969 since there is is no letter before the serial number.

That's pretty good looking.

If it has a matching serial # stamped on the back side of the right stock (the stock fit is questionable), it was produced in 1968, since there's not an M in the serial #.

$550 to $600 would be its value range.

Yeah... I checked for the serial number in the grip. It's a match.
Thank you.
