Default New collector in need of help

Hello everyone!

I am a brand new member here at S&W Forums and I am just getting started into collecting the older S&W's.

I wanted to get some opinions on this Model 19-4 I picked up from an estate sale a few months back. Your welcome to give me an idea on the value but I think I have that nailed down pretty good, I am more interested in the coding on the box. I went and read through the forums for info I could locate about this box tag but I come up without many answers as it appears that the tag is maybe missing some information. Take a look at my model 19-4 and if you can help or just want to chat and give me your opinions I'd be interested.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post. Have a great day!

I added a link to photos I uploaded on IMGUR but they are not displaying, any help or advice to tell me what I am doing wrong?

One option is to post pics directly from your device to the forum by choosing "go advanced" then click the paper clip on the top to add your pics.
Welcome from NE Ohio!

Imgur makes it super easy to post here. Go to the image itself and you'll see a list of links on the right. Click the blue "Copy" button next to "BBCode" near the bottom of the list.

Then, in your S&W Forum post, simply right-click and select "Paste".

Don't use the image icon on this site (the little box with the mountain). Imgur provides the same code to make it work.

Yeah that is exactly what I did and it provided a link to IMGUR once I posted. Thanks.

You posted the URL to the picture. A little different than the forum-style link.

Here's a link to the image page:

Here's a link to the image itself with [IMG] around the link:

And actually, I can't even seem to get to your image even following the link, so something is amiss there as well.

Welcome to the Forum and to the world of S&W's.

Your next investment should be the SCSW ..... Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson. Great book ..... truly a MUST HAVE for folks interested in S&W's of all types.

On the label in the Stocks box, S/T means square butt target stocks. The next two boxes are blank because the gun didn't come with target trigger or target hammer. I don't notice anything else missing.

I hope that answers your question.

Nice looking Combat Magnum with the nickel finish!
