Default Model 10 Grip Problems

I have a model ten that I bought at a while ago and it has the classic fake stag franzite grips. I ordered a set of original wood grips off ebay, and they came in today. They are in excellent shape but when I put them on my gun they are too large, they "click" into place, so they would technically fit on the gun, but they hang over the edges of the frame some. Im not sure if the seller advertised them wrong, the where labeled as k/l frame grips, or what, but either way im just wandering what you guys think could be wrong here.
The screw also is too big, but my guess there is that it is the screw for the franzite grips and it was a different size.
They even look they have scribe marks where the grips should end. The fit very good at the bottom, its just at the top on the front and rear that has extra material.

I hope I was clear in my description, and let me know what you guys think is going on here. Im guessing they are made for an larger frame?
Thank you for any help!

Your gun is a "K" Frame. Those stocks are for an "N" Frame, no matter what the seller may have identified them as.

Same thing happened to me. N frame square magnas usually sell for $ more than k frame. I just sold my N, made a profit, and bought a different set of Ks for my 64.

Agree with the previous posts. Lately, most of the grips sales on eBay come with free return shipping. I hope yours does so return the grips you received in the same condition for a refund and look for another set of K frame grips.

If those N frame Magnas are diamond grips, they are worth a good bit more than K frame grips. I'd hang on to them and either sell them or use them for trading stock. Who knows, you may even buy a N frame in the future.

Even if they don't have the diamond, I'd use them as an excuse to buy an N-frame.

Welcome to the FORUM!
Most ebay sellers I have dealt with are pretty good about fixing their mistakes. Worth a try. There again, the wrong size stocks may bring YOU a profit if you try to sell them.
I bought a set of stocks at the gun show for $40. They were supposed to be n-round. They turned out to be K -round. Sold them for $100. Bob
