S&W Model 12-3 Airweight
My local pawn shop called me and said they got in a decent 12-3 but it was missing the cylinder latch/screw and would sell it to me for $275.00 OTD.
I knew I had a extra new OEM cylinder latch/screw for it so I went down, inspected the revolver, and bought it.
I cleaned it and installed the needed parts....GTG.
Serial # ABC8694 so i guess it was made around 1977 or after.
It has some wear but I'm quite happy with it.

pictures are bad and the gun is oily and full of little hairs but you get the idea Whats not to love about a snubie k frame airweight!

I would have preferred a round butt version like yours but it's not like you even see one out in the wild very often.

I was not even looking for a model 12 and just happened upon it at a LGS. Does yours have a ribbed trigger? Mine does and I love it. Wish I had more smiths with that feature. In my short time of collecting Smiths I think this is the only model 12 I have ever seen for sale in my area.

I've been thinking about selling a pristine 12-3 snubbie. What did you pay for yours?

After tax and background I payed $480, it came with original grips but no box or paperwork. Also Id say it is in really good or excellent shape.
Someone else will likely chime in and give you a good idea what to ask for yours.
There is a model 12-2 for sale on the forum right now that has some character and he is asking $450 comes with an extra set of model 12 grips and a holster. Hope this helps
FS: Smith and Wesson Model 12-2

Looks like the price hasn't changed much since I looked into it a couple years ago. Also, I'd say you got a pretty good deal. Thanks for the info.

Much later than 1977. Probably mid 1982 or later.

Well yeah, 1977 is when then the 12-3 started being made so it has to be '77 or later.
