Default 29-2 Year and Value

Hello everyone. I have a 29-2 that I feel is pretty nice and have been thinking about selling. Can someone help with year produced and value? It is stamped N621XXX. Lock up is great with no issues and original nickel finish but no box just gun only. Thank you in advance.

It’s a mid-70s gun. Are the trigger, hammer, and rear sight nickel plated or do they just appear so in the photo?

Looks like the rear sight has been nickeled too. Most likely shipped first part of 1979, maybe January.

It's just the picture they are all black. Thanks for the info. Any idea what the value is? I thought about selling but the idea of not having it makes my stomach kinda sick. Not to mention I just ordered a 686 5 inch Talo and along with the 2.5 inch snub I already own they make a good trio. The 29-2 being to pretty one as the finish on the new 686's is not as nice.

I would guess it would bring about $800-900. But if you do sell it, the "kinda sick" feeling in your stomach may be permanently replaced by regret, and the pain in your leg from kicking yourself. Good luck in your decision.

Like my friend's kids say, "You so right!"

Was gonna sell to get a 686 that I would not have to be so delicate with. I bit the bullet and forked up the cash to buy the 686 so the 29-2 will stay with me too.

Interesting. What sort of light on the subject makes the photo turn case color (trigger and hammer) and blue (the rear sight) so it looks like they are nickel plated?

Actually a rhetorical question. You needn't answer . . . it's up to you.

Sold my 29-2 6'' (due to what I thought was a financial issue at the time) to a good friend with the agreement I could by it back...well 9 years later, I was able to con him back out of it ( which much him-hawing on his part over the years), but he gave in. I had to sacrifice my CS45 to another friend, but I got my 29 back. it was worth it & god willing it will never get sold again....think really long about it before you sell. as others have said you WILL regret it...….

Welcome to the FORUM! Nice 29! I have a -2 from 1971. It is nickel also (my 1st 1 at 65) Unfortunately something inside is not quite right. It has been at the smith longer than I've had it to shoot. (bummer) Bob
