Default Model 17-3 Proof Marks

Will European proof marks detract from the value Model 17-3?

Depends. If you wanted to sell the gun as new in the box, they’d probably be a negative. If it’s a shooter, the effect should be minimal unless the marks are really ugly. And there’ll even be people who’ll find the gun more attractive because of those; I sold a Model 19-5 to someone who wanted it specifically because of the German proofs, and was willing to pay extra.
