Default Forgotten N Frame Dragon Ivory

I had forgotten about these....and found them in the back of my safe. I had them on a 29-2 for a couple of years but decided to take them off to avoid damage. They fit beautifully. I picked them up at a gun show several years ago.

I'm certainly not an ivory expert but I'm pretty sure they are elephant ivory because I can see tiny chevron markings with my jewelers loupe.

I've seen a number of dragon carved grips for other guns....but this is the only set I've seen for an N frame with both sides carved.

Anybody else have any similar?

Don't forget you promised to sell them to me for what you have in them!

Jack Flash....I'm getting old and my memory isn't as good as it once was!

Funny....As I looked at them, I was wondering if I should keep them or let them move on.

I have several guns and grips that I know I'll likely never get rid of and another group of things that I don't mind dragging to gun shows as trade fodder. Undecided about the ivory.

Keepers, if I had possession of them. They would be great on my 5" bbl M27! If you get inclined to rid yourself of them, well...

I have a pair though not pristine on a Colt Cobra. Notice the crack running towards the screw. I am showing one side but both sides have embellishment.

I thought Obama banned ownership of elephant ivory.

No bans on ownership, but it can't be sold from one state to another. It can be sold within your state only, and even then you need reasonable proof that it was imported pre-ban. There are some fairly complicated exceptions.
