Default Value - Model 29-2

thinking of selling, Model 29-2, 8 3/8" barrel, nickle finish, presentation box with paper work and unused cleaning kit, also includes original shipping box. I believe it to be 1980 circa. Revolver is in excellent condition. Pic's attached.

In my area where where revolvers are scarce $1200 would be normal on consignment .

As with most things there are 2 prices. If you took your time and found the right buyer, $1200-1400. If you are just walking around a gunshow and selling to someone with cash in hand, you probably won't get over $1k.

Compare on Gunbroker’s “Completed Items”. That’s what I do.

I think EarlB is right. To the right buyer, $1200 to $1500, but walking around with it at a gunshow, around $1000.

My estimate would be $1,000. for a reasonably quick sale. I may start at $1,200. to see if it would snag a sale, but be prepared to take a $1,000. offer. That is in my neck of the woods, anyway. (Seems the longer tubes have less of a following, but the buyers are out there.)

My favorite dealer has a 29-2, nickle, 8 3/8" barrel, factory stocks, in the case for just under a grand. (999.99). No box or papers I don't think.

I've never really looked at it, because it's an 8 3/8" barrel, but I see it in the case.

If you restore the interior or send to member jcelect (Joe Cebull) to re-do it, that would go a long way to getting top dollar for your gun.

It would just look much better in a re-stored lining than laying on the hard plastic insert.

I think on GunBroker case, tools, paperwork and shipping carton would bring $1200.

My neck of the woods $900-$1000 for hi condition shooter. $200
more for one in the wooden case with tools/ docs. At shows they
are tagged $1200-$1400, but aren't flying off tables. For some
reason locally the S&W market is stagnant. It's like a bubble has
been reached. It's been this way for about a year. Before that S&Ws were flying, buying and selling both. I think everyone that
was in it for money were adding $100-$200 bucks to what they
paid. N frames were going for $900-$1000 and up to that point
they stalled. When dealers with a table full of S&Ws have them
priced at $1200 then everyone is going to price theirs the same.
Besides that, on shooters the book on condition must have been
lost. Seems like every N that is shootable goes for $900.

Pretty much the same all over. $1200 asking, $1000 cash takes it here also.

Can’t tell if the flocking is gone or not (using an iPad) but if so, $1100 with the box as is, get it re-flocked by Joe and it should go for $1200.00.
