Default Another Pawn Shop Rescue

Don't see these too often, so have to indulge when I do. Below are before & after pics. Model 15-3 shipped Jan 1978. The Goodyears had to go, but had a correct set of stocks for it. Not perfect, but still nice!

I've got one just like yours. They are a lot of fun to shoot. Just think, if you hadn't rescued this beauty, some one less deserving would have it now.

Very nice acquisition. It saddens me that the pawn shops here aren't allowed to sell firearms. At least none do. Seems like a no brainer for the pawn market.

I carried the 4” as my issued weapon for years. The best .38 S&W ever produced.

Those are hard to find!

Mine doesn't look quite that good since the water that got to it during the fire but it is still a wonderful snubbie revolver. When I move to my rebuilt house I will likely liquidate most of my 2" K-frames, including this one. Get them into the hands of concealed carriers who like K-frames for the purpose.

Default Nice Model 15 Snubby

I inherited a nice 15-2 snub that was the duty revolver of my wife's grandfather. He was the Chief of Detectives for Downey, CA in the late 50's-early 70's. Interesting that the s/n (K509199) of this revolver dates it to 1962, but according to the SCSW, the 2" bbl. was not available until 1964. I'm not sure if the Dept. armorer swapped barrels or it was just a late delivery from S&W (probably the latter). It sports a Pachmayr grip adapter, and I also have her grandfather's Bucheimer suede clip-on holster and a tooled leather 6-rd. belt cartridge holder. It's a smooth shooter and very accurate. My wife qualified for her CCW permit with this revolver. It's shown here with a .357 Magnum (1955) and a Model 28-2 (1976) with Jim Badger stocks. Enjoy!
