Default Back to the PC for work

Made the decision today to have my 27-2 sent back to the mothership for a refinish in bright blue @ have a master action package done to it. I’m looking forward to the results. The finish wasn’t terrible but also wasn’t loved by a prior owner. Action has a slight ledge to it in double action.

While I was at it I also sent in my 629-2 MG for the master action package also.

I’ll post photos of the 27-2 later today of the “before” if you will.

I’ve had the action package done on two other guns so I already know I will be happy with that part.

Very cool, it will be beautiful. So does the action job make a huge difference?

I’ve had the action job done on a 629 & a 69. I was extremely happy with it. Very smooth after the work was done.

Why pay shipping charges? Just wait for the next orbit and have 'em beam it up.

I just want a purty 27-2 that's a shiny & new. The hitch in the action really irritates me. I thought about it for years & finally decided I wanted to go the refinished route. It's such a nice gun, that I didn't want to see her site as she is.

If the underlying metal polishing is still intact you will be happy with your refinished model 27. It will probably look slightly darker than now but not much different. Looking forward to the "after" photos!

Did they provide a time estimate as to when you might expect them back?

Someone rode that one hard. 27-2s are supposed to be loved and cuddled aren't they?? 28-2s were supposed to be the work horses. I'm anxious to see the 'after' shots. As mentioned above the blue will lean more towards black but will be a huge improvement.

I really like the balance of it with the 5” barrel. I’m anxious to see how it turns out. I didn’t ask for a turnaround estimate. I have a model 10 that I’ve also debated a refinish on. I did ask about doing a renickel & they told me they stopped doing that about 2 years ago.

That looks like a good shooter to me, a little exterior use, but the stop notches look crisp, so maybe not shot a lot. I would find that gun a good shooter as is myself, but I certainly understand your desire to spruce it up, as I do like nice looking Smiths too!

I read a lot of the factory refinishing threads here before making the decision. I’m excited to see how it comes out

I sent them my CS9D for a trigger job and 686+ for a Combat Revolver Package. All the work was outstanding. I like the bead blast on the 686 much better than satin and its trigger is so nice.
