My new Roper style grips
These beautiful grips were made by Forum member 44magget. I have them mounted here on my model 19-3, which is the first handgun I ever bought and still have.
Looks like 44magget has a the talent and is great to deal with.

MY-MY-MY!!
I was concerned---worried even, when I heard Keith Brown may be discontinuing his activities-------maybe not so much anymore.

Agreed on that. I panicked and bought the only pair of his Python grips I could find...and I don't even need them.
Looking forward to hearing more about the OP's grip-maker - those look Grrr-reat!

SUH-WEEET!! They look like my personal vision of the perfect Roper-type grips. Just enough swell to fill your palm and no extra shelf or groove anywhere. They should work fine for their intended purpose, giving plenty to hold onto while they could still fit into a holster if needed. If there is such a thing as grip perfection, you have them in hand.

Not quite as nice as KBs but not bad, I'm assuming that the maker is still in the experimentation stage with his work but he has skill and good hands.

My information is along the lines of scuttlebutt-----unknown source---unknown credibility. That said, it went like this: Not accepting any new orders (which has happened before when he got behind and felt the need for breathing room)---------only this time it wasn't that he was not accepting any new orders until further notice, it was no new orders and he may be shutting down. Needless to say, the best source of information is the man himself.

44magget
I've bought several Roper style grips from 44magget. All were very nice & considering the work he did, were reasonably priced.
I'll contact him for another pair when I buy the new Python.

Very nice set of Ropers. The satin finish - quite rough - is not the glossy, perfect, shiny of KB, but it respects the original one.
I like.
I'd like.

Thanks for posting. I had not noticed any forum posts about .44magget's work prior to this thread. It looks as though he has skills. And if he can produce reasonable reproductions of Ropers, then he could also produce reasonable reproductions of Farrant, Hurst, Sanderson, etc.
Of course, it would be pretty easy for a one-man-shop to get overwhelmed with demand for quality reproductions of classic wheelgun stocks.

Keith Brown
Here is a post from KB's web sight! He is in the " Vendors" section of the Classifieds
Effective January 10, 2020 I am no longer accepting new work. I am still working through existing orders, family, and promises made keep me at it pretty much every day.
This website will remain up at least through this year and then I will have to make a decision based on work left if it is worthwhile to maintain it.
Thank you,
