Not a 628. 28-2. Nickel or chrome plated.

That's a Model 28-2 and there is a 99.8% chance that the finish is not original. There are precious few Model 28's made with the nickel finish. That one looks like a polished nickel finish, leading me to think this is definitely an aftermarket finish. If the nickel plating was applied correctly, it will provide for excellent corrosion resistance. If it was done cheaply, it may not be durable and may flake off. Such a piece should be eyed with scrutiny and is often worth quite a bit less than one with the original finish.

Hi, and welcome. Interesting that you are from Ecuador.
Could you give us some ideas about gun laws there?

There are no original 628s
There are very few factory nickel model 28s and most of those went to the Florida Highway patrol

A model 28-2 that had been hard chromed would look like stainless and be a great gun with a value below that of really nice 99% guns, but, to me worth more than a normal shooter 28, because of the finish durability. The only nickel guns I own are a few old top breaks.

Camilo...Welcome to the S&W Forum.
Could you share more pictures? Whole revolver & closeup pictures of side plate and S&W logo would provide you better feedback.

Saludos!
Looks to be a model 28-2. Could be a "Florida highway patrol ".
We need more pictures.

The nickel ones, have an "N" on the cylinder, as well as an "N" on the lower right hand corner stamped on the hilt.

A strange serial number for a Model 28-2 (assuming that is the serial number in the yoke cut).

The Department of Public Safety in Florida received 25 Model 28s with a nickel finish and 5-inch barrel. These revolvers have a 4-screw frame and were shipped on May 11, 1959. There was a run of 54 Model 28-2s with a brushed nickel finish and 4-inch barrel. These guns were shipped to various distributors in 1972.

Used app to blow up photo and serial number looks like N then 5 or 6, but probably a 5 followed by 4 then a you got me character that could be a really messed up 7 then 487. Somewhere between 78 to 80 if it correct.
