Default My model 18-2 revolver's age?

I've got a like new, old, Model 18-2 with a serial number of K6393xx, and equipped with a target trigger/hammer, and grip. I have searched here and from I can determine mine doesn't have trigger guard screw and has a 4-inch barrel. Would this one be classified as a Combat Masterpiece? If so it would go great with my 1955 pre-model 14 .38 special which also has a 4-inch barrel. Any help as to date and any other info would be greatly appreciated.

SCSW 4th edition states K605878-K658986 = 1965.

The elimination of the trigger guard screw was part of the change to the -2 (dash 2) K frame revolvers. So your 18-2 was the first version to not have that screw. The other revolver you mentioned would be a Pre-15 (4" barrel), not a Pre-14 (6" barrel). So both of these would be properly called Combat Masterpiece, .22 Combat Masterpiece and .38 Combat Masterpiece.

Great. Thanks. Two nice guns.

Pretty obvious which one is which. Here are a couple observations:

1. The Model 18-2 does not have a target trigger. It is wearing a trigger shoe, which is an aftermarket addition.
2. The .38 Combat Masterpiece is wearing stocks that are more than a decade newer than the gun.

In any case, you have two lovely revolvers. Congrats!

Guys, thanks for the info on my two revolvers. I did discover the trigger shoe after I'd posted it had a target trigger..my bad. Also I'm not too sure on the hammer, however it's wider than the one on the .38. Did shoot a box of .22 out of the 18-2 today and boy what a smooth light trigger. At my age the finger to brain feedback just ain't what it used to be, so I very careful being sure I'm on or near target before reaching for the trigger. Again thanks for the great help.
