Default My new model 19

Just bought a new/old model 19-3 today. Makes my second model 19! 3 inch .357 magnum. Serial number is 5k4xxxx. Anyone know what year this was made? Also, what is approximate value? Pretty much a shooter only. No box or anything special.

I have two 19-3's. A 4 inch nickel. And a blued 6 inch. 3 inch 19's are rare as hens teeth and worth a small fortune. Would love to see a picture of it.

Probably 1972 for that serial number, about $500 on value. Pictures would make value determination easier.

Two of my four Model 19's are 19-3's. A 2 1/2" Blue one from 1970, and a 4" Nickel one from 1973.

The pawn shop I bought it had two one nickel and one blue. I bought the blue one. The guy told me the original owner pawned three and they only gave him $500!

Studied your picture and compared it with one that hangs on the inside of the door of my big safe. I'm pretty convinced the one in your picture is the more common 2 1/2" barrel. Did you actually measure it at 3"?

Obviously, when just looking at photos, a half inch can disappear pretty easily. So I know I might be wrong about this. I would just like some confirmation for my own peace of mind. Thanks.

Serial number is 5k4xxxx
1973.

Even the SCSW got that one right (often does not on the xKxx numbers):
5K1-5K6616 = 1972
5K6617-5K73962 = 1973
5K73973-5K99999 = 1974

Doesnít look like the M19 3-inch in the photo that Doc44 recently posted. Nevertheless, any Model 19, shooter grade or otherwise, is a great revolver to own. Congrats on your new 19.

Model 19's are great revolvers and the 3 inch barrel is just as concealable as the 2-1/2 inch barrel, but with the 3 inch barrel you get a full length ejector rod.

I don't have a 3" 19 but do have a 3" 66.......................

Looks like a 2 1/2 inch to me ....... IIRC only about 500 3" 19s were built.

If I'm wrong you've got a very nice and valuable collectible...Value? Can't say I've ever seen a 3" for sale!
