Default S&W 29-2

So I spotted this 27–4 on the Internet. Took the car and drove 45 minutes to see it in person at the LGS.

He happened to have several model 27, in 2 4 6 8 3/8 inches

In the pile of revolvers there was something different, I went “Hang on, that’s not a model 27, let me have a look”

It’s a 6.5 inch model 29–2, pinned and recessed, from 1975 or 76

I still do not have a model 27, but the model 29–2 was mine for $900 including the combats grips of the 27-4

The LGS had also had a box full of old grips and he let me roam through it

I took six pairs for $200 and installed period correct targets with the football cut

Which one do you want, 210-1 army 1949, 210-2 army 1956, 210-1 civilian .30 Luger, 210-6, 210-4 German border protection?

That's a beautiful 29-2. Looks to be straight from the factory. And with the deal you got on the grips would just about pay for the gun here in the states. Great snags, congrats.

Default Very Nice!

I'm in Tucson, visiting family, and there is a 29-2 four inch bbl. in "new" condition for sale here for $1595. I'm tempted. You are inspiring me to offer $1000.

Enjoy yours!

Spent some time at the range sighting it in. It was hitting way left

And damn those reloads from 10 years ago were hot, 21 gr of (old) 2400 with a 240 gr FMC bullet.
