19-4 2 1/2”
What do you think? Is it worth $500.00
I’m on the fence, no box, no papers, rubber grips.
Rated “good” condition.
Papa
PS. might be a shorter barrel

Without pictures, it’s hard to tell. But I would risk $500.
Since picture has been posted, definitely worth $500.

Looks pretty short.

Well the trigger is pretty or appears to be pitted in the photo, the rubber grips would have to go but ….. I'd give 500 for it.

I think it's the angle of the picture that makes the barrel look shorter. Put the correct grips on it and it may sell up to $650.
This is also a 2 1/2" 19-4, slightly altered, to repair a badly surface rusted finish. The trigger has also had the serrations ground off and polished and contoured for double action shooting, but the original stocks and a T grip are now on it.

I lucked into these two at pawn shops for less than $500 each but no way would I sell one of them for $500.

I'd say the risk is that it might be quite a while before you see one this nice again.

Yeah, around these parts, a 2 1/2" P&R model 19 offered up for 5 Bens wouldn't last a day in the case. It actually doesn't look bad at all, considering it was photographed with a potato.

Not a bad deal...
I picked up this minty nickel 19-4 snub ('78) a few years ago for $550, and I thought it was a pretty good deal then. Recently I haven't seen many for sale, and the few I've seen were blued and $800-900. Even with the Hogue stocks, you'll probably be OK at $500, and maybe you can get the price down a little more. It should clean up and polish up nicely, and you can find some proper stocks fairly easily.

No. To allow enough length on the extractor rod to eject .357 Magnum brass, the barrel could be no less than 2 1/2". On the K frame .38 Special snubs, the barrel could be shorter because the case is shorter and extraction isn't a problem. Examples include the 2" Model 15 or the 2" Model 10.

Yes. But I would check under those Goodyear grips to make sure there is no corrosion there.
Here is one of mine with ivory on it.

I'd give $500 for that 19-4 in a heartbeat.

19-4 2 1/2”
So I never bought the 19-4, I know I regret that.
But I did trade into this 19-3
What do you think?

Given the looks of that trigger..... I'd not get it without pictures of what's under those rubber grips......could be rust and pitting or could be OK.
$500 isn't a bad price.... -4s last of the P&R'ed guns.

I couldn't buy it fast enough! Around 3 years ago at a local gun show I bought a 66-2, 2.5" for $725. It had a $795 price tag on it. Rubber grips, and no extras. Bob

Just snagged this -4 with ACE grips . at a Washington pawn shop. Got it for about $550 + tax. In the west 2.5” P&R 19s are hard to find under $750.

My 2.5” 19 is the very best shooting revolver in the safe. It outshoots my 4” guns.
Because of COVID-19 my gunshop and pawnshop checks have been put on hold. A few days ago I wondered into a shop I normally have great luck at. I see a 19 2.5”. I can tell it is a non-pinned barrel, and I was still interested until I saw the $695 price tag. The one guy at the shop I know asked me if I wanted to see anything. I told him I guess not. He walks over to the case and pulls out the 19 and walks to the register. I watched a guy put $750 on a credit card and take it home.
