Hello I'm a new member and could you tell me what year this was made and do you think it has the original grips. It's a Highway Patrol model Thank You

N951xxx puts in 1982-1986. Since it appears to have recessed cylinder and non-pinned barrel, I'm going with a late 1982 / early 1983 transition model. Pinned barrel and recessed cylinder ended with the introduction of -3 engineering in late 1982 early 1983 I think.

Welcome! The right barrel on this one reads ".357 Highway Patrolman". Its model number is 28-2 as seen in the third photo.

These usually came with smaller wood stocks so the ones on it are likely factory aftermarket replacements.

I've had this a long time and was hoping it was older but it is a great gun that shoots fantastic

Appears to have the unpinned barrel of the 28-3 but has the recessed cylinder of a -2 and frame is stamped 28-2. Around 1981 as they were switching from -2 to -3 production they started running out of -2 barrels and began installing -3 barrels. Happened a lot.

The stocks are likely not original and are actually a couple years newer than the gun. That style appears in 1982.
