AUC comes back to 86-87. I could not find an AUD. Maybe somebody with better info will jump in.

My guess is "star angel" is autocorrect speak for "strange".
Prefix AUD appears to be from 1987. Let us know if star angel agrees!

Is the gun a 64-3 or 65-3 ? If a 64-3 and the barrel is pinned , 1977-1982.
If barrel is not pinned 1982-1988.
If a 65-3 1988. This is the best I can make out of the dash number changes from SCS&W 4th Ed.

Not pinned, firing pin on hammer, retired nypd officers revolver I guess is 1988 then. Nice catch guys thanks! Kinda cool with his badge number scratched into the right sideplate. Not a pti, just threw a bid up on GB and snagged it. Shot low; just slowly filed down front sight until in the black at five yards, one of 3 test rounds (Core-bon +p) in almost same hole. Smoothed action and m2 mainspring, 13lb trigger return spring. All that’s left is to bob the hammer and I’ll carry it (4” barrel, holster at 9:30 being a lefty. May find another and have a 3” barrel put on, but it’s still quick into action with only tiny soft recoil, even with the +p. I’d rather have the kinda 6 I grew up with and a fast and accurate second shot; than plastic that I didn’t, regardless of capacity. Besides, my snubbie and speed loader has the extras if I need them. Guess I’m just one of THOSE old revolver guys, whatever.
“Now you dagum kids git off my lawn!” Lol
