Very nice Model 29-2. Since the stocks do not have a diamond around the escutcheon and nut, I would guess your 44 Magnum shipped in 1969 and has a serial number in the S300000 range. The case is a little newer than the revolver and dates from 1975 to 1978 (approximately). I would value the package at around $1500 (ballpark value).

Brutus- beautiful gun, thanks for sharing.
You “recently purchased” .... so you already know its worth.
Just tell as what you paid and we’ll tell you how you did.

There are many factory stamps all over which are hard to decipher, at least I can not. S serial commands a premium and although you did not steal it that price is good. I'd say about right and in this condition hard to find. I would be very glad to have it. I guess the cylinder throats would clock in at 0.432 or 0.433. Meaning to get real tack driving accuracy you'd need cast bullets, not too hard at that diameter. I shoot Montana from Bruce and Victorian in my 29-2 and yes, they do work.

You are not upside down on price, fair.
I believe the R in circle is inspector/ fitters mark
