Styrofoam insert for presentation case
Does anybody make the styrofoam insert and flock it for the clamshell presentation case? I have one and it’s missing the other half.

I had my case redone by Heritage Case.I bought this 29-2 at an auction and I guess it wasnt kept in the proper climate so the inside was blue goo.I wanted to restore it because the gun belonged to the late great NY Yankee catcher Thurman Munson.

Its's just the regular Smith and Wesson brand name. The light made the letters look a little weird.

Thanks. I appreciate the response. Great looking case and 29-2.

Was this case the usual factory case that came with the 29-2's? If so, Heritage Case did more than redo the case. I can't remember exactly what it is called, French something - I think, where each piece is precisely fitted. Do you remember the cost, by chance? Thanks.
Larry

Yes you are correct,it is called French fit.It is the original case, only the inside was restored.I highly recommend his work.As I said above, when I got the gun the inside was blue goo.It even dicolored the left grip panel a little (my next project).I believe it was about $250.I really should start another thread to tell the back story on the gun as I think NY Yankee fans would get a kick out of it.Cheers,Joe

As a life-long Yankees fan, having grown up and gone to school "behind enemy lines" here in Massachusetts, I would love to read the back story!

jcelect can fix you up, too
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Forum member jcelect for repairing and refinishing presentation cases. Joe has added inserts as well as relined several cases for me...he is a very good craftsman, repairs are usually done fairly quickly, and his prices are very reasonable. Send him a PM. Good luck.

Just curious, but can you still get a presentation case from S&W? I know I used to see guns in them in dealer cases, but it's been years since I've seen one.
Just another of those things that's died out?
