Default Model 67 Stainless Steel sights

I was contacted by a dealer friend that said he had an early Model 67, and would I be interested. I started to say no, but he said it has the stainless steel rear sight. The price was $475.00, but, no box. I have three empty 67 boxes, so no problem. It shipped in November 1972 to Bostwick-Braun Toledo, Ohio. It may be one of the last stainless steel rear sight examples before the change. I'm happy with it.

Good price! I got this 1st year model back in 2013 for $350 and was happy.

Beautiful gun at an excellent price. My only example of a no-dash came off the assembly line after the change to the blue (some say black) rear sight. As an aside, there’s a fellow on the big auction site who keeps trying to sell one like mine, claiming it’s a “factory error” because of the blue sight. Ignorance or sales hype, I’m not sure which. Regardless, it never seems to sell. Enjoy that Combat Masterpiece.
Good shootin’,
Doug

I have two 67s with stainless rear sights, they both are in the 5K17xxx serial # range, made in 1973.

I bought this one as a first gun for my daughter for $300 with no stocks. It was polished so I had my gunsmith restore the brushed finish and go over it completely for $115. I then installed a set from my collection of checkered target stocks. At that point I decided it was too nice for a first gun for her and bought her a Model 67-1 that was in good condition.

I do agree that the stainless sights are not the best thing for target shooting but since there were only a given number of Model 67s that came with them, they are sort of a collector item.

I have one which my wife claimed as her bedside gun. She shoots it very well. I like the stainless sights; they show up light against a dark target and dark against a bright one.

My 67 no dash with stainless rear sights was 1973. Many shooters complained about glare when using them. They were later shipped with blue sights. My 67 had become my wife's favorite.
If I remember right, it has target stocks on it now. I tend to change stocks often. Bob
