Default 27-2 longtom at 50 yds

Well I've been waiting to try out my longtom 27-2 nickel at 50 yds. I got it New Years eve, but the cold weather kept me on the indoor 50 foot range. I had just started shooting it outside on a few of the warmest days in March, but then the shutdown hit. I had managed to shoot it once or twice at 50 yds, but only to make sure the sights were close.

Well I did get back out finally, once last weekend and then today. Here is the best I've managed so far at 50 yards. 38 wadcutters, shot one handed single action "NRA Bullseye" style

9 out of 10 in the black. Why do I always yank 1 so far out? Grrrr!!

In case you forgot, here she is

Yeah, I wouldn't complain one bit about that target! 50 yds! Your eyes must be better than mine, which have taken a hit over the last few months. The flyer thing is preordained so that we maintain proper humility. In my case, it's not the gun. Nice gun, nice shooting!

OK, now you're just bragging! Anyone here would be proud of that target shooting with a two hand hold AND open sights. It looks like you found a new friend!

Question

Just my curiosity but did you get an idea what the 50 yd bullet drop is? I'm assuming your wadcutters are mild loads.

Yes, classic .38 wadcutter load; 2.8 gr Bullseye, 148 gr cast wadcutter.

They hit pretty much the same as 50 feet. I only gave it about 2 clicks up to get it right there using a 6 o'clock hold, same as I do at all ranges on the properly sized target ( I forget the actual numbers, is it B2 for 50 ft, B6 for 25 yds, and B8 for 50 yds?). Curiously, I need much more switching to heavy .38 and .357 loads, plus windage changes, and I shoot those mostly at 25 yards. The need for elevation changes doesn't surprise me, but I'm shocked I need so much windage adjustment. When I switch from light Specials to Magnums in my .44 I don't need to touch windage.

Here is my 50 yd target for comparison. Actually, it is not a fair comparison. I was using 2 hands, shooting better than usual, and I wasn’t quite 50 yds away, and aaahhhhhh!!!
