Just bought a model 57 4" barrel. Sn 807xxx. Probably 1980.
Not sure in the grips are right. It has Magnas on it, but looking at the Standard Catalog of S&W it doesn't list this with Magnas.
Does anyone know if this was an option for 1980 to 1983.

I have seen a lot of 57s in my life, but never with magna. Usually checkered targets. Here is a no dash I sold recently.

Yes, they came with target stocks as well as hammer and trigger, red ramp and white outline

I posted this picture of my 1980 6" M57 that I sold about a year ago.
I made the comment that it was a 3-T and P&R.
Another member told me that all M57 were 3-T.

Target hammer, Target trigger & Target stocks.

I'm sure that it could have been a special order.

Original owner may have switched them out as a matter of hand size preference. It may have been an option, can't see why not.
