So I was able to pick up a very nice model 66 of years ago for $700. There is hardly any where. The cylinder ring is very, very faint. Is $700 seem low, or in the middle, or high for this firearm? I might need to sell it to gather funds for bills. Thank you.

That is a beautiful revolver. I think 700 is a smidge high but not unreasonable. It appears to have the all stainless sights? If so that would up the value to me.

IMO, you did okay. The earliest ones with the stainless steel sights are very desirable even though lots of owners aren't fond of the sight picture in daylight. I have one just like yours, and I've learn to live them. A really cool gun. Prices are all over the place and with the box tools and papers, high condition examples will go for four figures. Shoot lots of 38 special ammo, and stay away from hot 125 grain 357 magnum ammo. It has a reputation for cracking the bottom (flat part) of the forcing cone. 158 grain 357 magnum ammo is much less likely to cause damage. I've had no problems, and it's seen alot of range time. Enjoy!

I missed the part about you possibly selling it. I wouldn't expect much of a profit, but you should at least come close to breaking even.

I have the exact same 66 no dash except different target grips and the box. Yours having the stainless steel sights was "made 1970/71 but may not have actually left the factory as late as 1973 like mine. It appears to be in excellent condition but because of the SS sights it should go for a premium. You got a good deal
