Just a price check folks. What would a real nice Nickle 4 inch S&W 57 in .41 magnum go for?

Pictures. Condition is everything. Does it have the box and tools?

I've got a blue one in pristine condition that has been fired, but not that you can tell, that I wouldn't consider selling for less than $1,400. An equally nice one in nickel would command a little more, I think. YMMV.

Depends if you've got all the extras like the box, docs, tool kit, papers, etc.

Should be able to get $900 easy for just the gun. $1100 or more for the whole package.

This is my estimation of value, which has not been affected by the recent insane prices being asked on the big auction sites, so it could go for a lot more with the right pictures and presentation.

If its early with an "S" prefix on the serial number, and everything is correct, I'd guess $1800.00. If its later with an "N" prefix on the serial # but still all correct, $1200.00 max.

As others have stated above there are a number factors to consider above and beyond condition. Is it a 57 or a 57-1, 57-2, etc. Are the stocks/grips original to the gun? Is it an S or N serial number prefix?

I’ve seen it posted that only about 10% of production was nickel plated which makes that finish much less common. If it’s an early no dash with target hammer, target trigger and coke bottle target stocks it would be worth considerably more than a later production without a pinned barrel, recessed cylinder and non original stocks.

Photos would make an approximate valuation much more certain.

Not to hijack a thread, but I have the same question. I have a 4" and 6", both NIB with original stocks, P&R ,N serial, 1980 I believe. The 4" is in a presentation box, the 6" is cardboard. I was thinking of selling the pair, which is how I bought them. Any ideas on value? Better to separate them for sale?
