Default New to me 28-2

Picked up a 6” 28-2 today.
It is 98% or better with
target stocks, very light
Turn line. Prices on model
28’s have jumped up
Pretty quick ,this one did
not draw much attention.
Top one with 6” barrel and
Checkered targets.

An excellent find, I have one, it's a true all-arounder.

I’ve had two 6” M28-2’s in the past. Great guns. Unfortunately, I no longer have them. I do currently have a 4”. Prices have indeed drastically increased.

Are you trying to buy them all? No wonder they have gone up in price.

I have one 1978 6" M28-2.
I gave a 1954 4" to a friend who did me a favor.

My 6" is a keeper.

While I'm personally most partial to K frames in general and the M66 P&R in particular, I'll admit that it really doesn't get much better as a "do it all " .357 than the M28.

Yours is a very nice example. Congrats.

Thanks for sharing it.

On the hunt for a 6" myself to compliment a 4" 66 no dash and a 2.5" -1.

In today’s market, I’m hesitant to say. I paid $500 for this 4” last year. I’d rate it a conservatively 95+%, but came with pachs and no box, etc. Appears shot or carried little.

That was a good price for that M28.

$500 for a decent 6" M28 w/Pachs would be a "buy it now" for anyone in the market. If the OP paid less, he got a great deal.

Maybe 10 years ago I bought a couple of 6" M28s for about $250 per each. If I saw one at that price today, I would buy it just to flip it, and I am not a flipper.

Would not trust that guns shop, sounds pretty dishonest to me calling good years for rare custom grips.

As noted by several of you above, it is hard to have only one HP. I purchased my first one (I think it was my very first N-Frame) about 14 years ago for $290. I swapped out some missmatched grips for a set of Grasshorn stags and it quickly became one of my favorite .357s.

Then within one year of that first HP purchase, three more magically appeared in my safe... Since then, a few more have migrated my direction - HPs always bring a smile...
