Default Just another 28-2

A lot of discussion on 28-2's today. I bought this one several years ago, brought it home, put it in the safe and didn't really look back. It was represented to me as used but possibly unfired. I have never fired it, I have a refinished 31/2" pre 27 for using. It's not for sale, I'm not worried about value, but I would like some thoughts on whether it's been fired or not. It is complete with serial numbered box and unopened tool package. Thanks for any thoughts. Please forgive my poor flashed out cell phone photos.

Yes, appears to have been fired - but no big deal. Great gun!

Look at the frame just above the BC gap. Is there any flame cutting? Doesn’t matter though, great looking 28. Can’t have too many.

It has been fired, look at the front of each chamber.

I will also lean toward it being fired beyond factory.

My take is that it has been fired but not a lot. I would like to see the recoil shield. Overall, I would say you have a beauty

If it was unfired, then every other chamber would have a burn ring. This one shows every chamber as having a burn ring, so it has been shot, maybe just test fired by a previous owner, but it has been shot.

Very nice 4" example.

Every time I see one I am reminded I need one or two to go with my pair of 6" HP examples.

Congrats.

My online gun guy all of a sudden had two 6” m28-0, one 6” m28-2 and two 6” m27-2’s. You never know what will show up.
