I recently developed a new carry gun with interchangeable cylinders. It started as a round butt 10-5 with a mismatched 4" heavy barrel. I sent it to Pinnacle Gunsmithing in PA to mount a 3 inch 10-5 barrel (Thanks to forum member "linde" for parting with the 3 inch barrel) and cut the cylinder to accept 9mm moon clips.
I found a 10-5 nickel cylinder in original 38 special that interchanges. I have small hands so I put Pachmyr Combat Pro grips with exposed backstrap on it.
It shoots both rounds well out to 25 yds. I shoot 38+P 158 gr lead semi-wadcutter HPs in the 38 Special mode but really like Hornaday Critical Duty or Gold Dot 9mm 124 gr HPs. Practice 9mm is a lot cheaper than 38 Special these days. Attached are photos.
(BTW, if someone knows how to attach the photos as full size, I'd appreciate it.)
