New addition, model 19-3 4 inch, nickel, identification
The beauty reached out grabbed me at the gun show today. It was the first gun I picked up and the one that came home with me. I have a 19-2, 2.5 blue, which has been my fav, but now it has a new brother 19-3, 4 inch, in nickel. wwwwwWow. It look like it has barely ever been fired looking at the cylinder and firing cone area. Got it for $850 out the door in a private sale. I'm guessing that was a major steal.
Can anyone help me refine the date? The S&W bible tells me 19-3 was from 1967 to 1977, serial number is 78K001xx.

My other K frames got jealous when the saw the camera out and insisted I take a pic of them too. One correction the snub nose is also a 19-3, serial 344xx. The one wearing stag grips is an 18-4 (22 caliber), serial 463xx, I would also like the birthday for these if possible.
It's a good day!

If you haven't added an additional digit it's a 1980 date (57K001 - 71K6800). For the second one, 344XX, are you sure the first digit is a 3 and not a 5? It should also be preceded with a K if it's a Mod 19. The -3s covered quite a while, from 1967 until 1977 when the -4 change came about with putting the gas ring from the yoke to the cylinder. With the information you provided for the 18, really has me confused.

If the serial number on the 4” nickel is 78K, it’s probably a 19-4 from 1979.
On the 2.5” the 344xx is the assembly number on the yoke. The serial number is (only) on the butt.
