If you had to choose only one Revolver from these which would it be and why ? All are in excellent to like new condition...

Model 10 (no dash) 4"
Model 10-5 3"
Model 64-4 2"
Model 65-1 4"

Revolver would be used for general shooting and as a nightstand weapon.

From your above short list I would opt for the 65, its more versatile being its a .357. Not even going to consider the numbers after the MODEL-.

Personal opinion: I'd walk away with the Mod. 10 no dash 4".
That's just me.
That's assuming that they were laid in front of me and I was allowed to take one for free. Now, if money was involved, that would open up a whole can of worms with respect to which one would present the best value.

If those were My only options I'd get a Samurai sword.

The 65 would be my pick.

The model 65 would be the most practical for a person with one handgun.
4 inch barrel helps shooting .357 chambering allows use of all 38 special , 38 Spcl.+P and 357 magnum ammo...that covers a lot of uses if you don't reload . Getting 38/357 ammo is usually easy .
About perfect for the night stand or on a belt holster .
Stainless steel a plus for ease of maintenance.

Of the guns you are considering, the Model 10 with the three-inch barrel is the most valuable and the most practical, in my opinion. The .38 Special caliber is more than adequate for home/self defense.

I'd go with the Model 10-5 with the 3" barrel. I'm a sucker for blued steel, and 3" K-frames are desirable given their limited production as compared to the standard 4" models. 38spl +P is plenty for home defense, and it won't make you go as deaf when fired in enclosed spaces like 357.

Agreed. Plus, the 65 is stainless.

The model 65 being 357 mag. and a stainless revolver makes it the best option. Models 65 or 66 are the hottest sellers too. So if later you decide upon something else you could probably sell it for as much if not more than you paid for it. Any of the listed guns will make a fine gun for the op intended activities.

For practicality, 65 hands down.

Of the choices you list I would pick the Model 10, 4" hands down. This is one of my very favorites and put an adapter on it and you are all set. To me the 38SPL is adequate for anything I want form a handgun so I really do not need the added versatility of the 357.

I've owned all of your choices over the years. The 65 is my first choice because it's so versatile. You didn't mention carry concealed. If that's a factor, I'd take the Model 10 3 inch IF it's a round butt. The 65 is more valuable and easier to shoot better and maintain.

For your stated purposes either 4" revolver will do, but I'd choose the 65 because of easier maintenance.

Wakizashi or long sword katana?

While all the revolvers listed are excellent choices and any would serve you well, the Model 10 with the 3” barrel stands out. With good self defense loads it will do very nicely on night stand duty. The three inch barrel is long enough to shoot well at the range and short enough to used as a concealed carry piece. The round butt grip frame allows for round butt grips or round to square butt conversion grips. Good luck and whatever choice you make will be the correct one.

There isn't a lot of variation between your choices, so any would do just as well as another. I will say that the 2" or 3" are personal favorites. Is there any reason for such a narrow choice? Not criticizing at all, just that it would help narrow this down better.

Model 10 4 inch. Good sight radius, can be easily concealed and light enough to walk around with all day. Action on the old Model 10s are unbelievable compared to today's guns. Mine has the smoothest of all my Smiths.

I appreciate all of the replies & thoughts. I currently own each one of these revolvers. I am in the process of whittling down my modest collection for several different personal reasons...foremost being health. I have taken care of family members and close friends already. I should have been clear in my first post but I did not know if it was appropriate to ask "what would you keep & what would you sell ? "

That would be an easy choice for me. I’d take the 10-5 3” for two reasons. First, it’s the hardest to find. Second, I already own a model 10 no dash in 4” as well as a 64-4 in 2”, lol! See what this forum does to you? My second choice would be the 65 because I have one in 3” but not 4”.

For nightstand and range, the 65-1 as the 357 Magnum chambering makes it a highly versatile revolver.

If for carry purposes, I might opt for the 10-3 with the 3 inch barrel. The extra 1/2 inch of barrel is not significantly harder to carry, even concealed, but that extra 1/2 inch of barrel comes with a full length ejector rod and to me that is a big plus.

I like n frames and magnums but I’d buy them all.

If I could only have one it would be the 10_5 3 inch.

Those are all great revolvers, choosing only one is tough. My choice for a do it all gun would be the 3” Model 10. I really like 3” K frames, and they are versatile. Not hard to carry concealed, ideal for keeping in the nightstand at home, and also fun to shoot at the range.

If it was me I’d keep at least three of them. Carry the snub 64, use the 3” 10-5 for the house, and take either the 4” 10 or 65 to the range.

Shorter barrels are a little harder

Another vote for the 3" Model 10-5. Scarce, very desirable, good shooter and great if you decide to carry.

Since you currently own all 4, which one do you like the best (appearance, balance, trigger)? With which do you shoot the best, or have the most experience? Do you have a large stockpile of .357 ammo?

If you are not in a serious hurry to sell, personally I would hang onto all of them for now. If money is not urgently needed they will definitely not lose value before the events of the end of this year, and may go up quite a bit. Good luck in your decision.

Hate stainless ( even in high humidity conditions I have never had a blued gun rust and they are so easy to care for I don’t buy this easier maintenance stuff regarding stainless anyway)

A 3” Blued K is my grail gun hardly ever see them for sale so that would be the keeper

The model 10 4".

I would of chose the 64 but the 2" barrel puts the blast/flash that much closer to your own eyes than what's good for a home invasion situation.

You want to be able to get off 6 rounds accurately with little to no crazy muzzle blast that takes you by surprise, blinds you and causes a pause in recovery.

Criminals have been subdued by .38 caliber rounds for over a 100 yrs. Humans haven't evolved in to being bullet proof so a .38 will still get the job done. and the K Frame is heavy enough to handle recoil and STILL come in handy as an improvised club if you somehow miss all 6 shots.
