Gentlemen , have a look at my new revolver . as usual pics suck . i hope to fix that one day . 57 no dash 3Ts with 70 rds factory ammo . drove 170 miles round trip . cost me $ 800 and 100 rds. 44 mag . i was happy . seller was happy. i know ultimately that is what matters . that said i would like the opinion of my fellow forum members .how did i do? so lay it on me . been at he Smith gathering hobby for a little over a year . having a blast . thanks , kenny

Sounds like a good buy. Ive owned multiple 29's a i always wanted a 57. Like the caliber. Had 2 Rugers. There is one like yours for 1k firm in the KC area right now. Too much for me now that im retired. 800 was probably a steal.

If I had that opportunity and $800 all at the same time, I’d go for it.

You didn't list the SN but said it is a no dash 57. If an S SN even without the correct stocks you did very well, if an N SN that's fine too; $800 is a very good price these days in the condition shown. Here's my no dash 57 from 1964.

You can always replace the 800 bucks. You can rarely find a nice S&W affordable.

Looks great! Welcome to the M57 club. We're dying to know, 'S', or 'N' SN#? I found my M57 about a month ago, already have 100 rounds through it, although I suspect it isn't new to being fired. Mine's a S, I think around 1968 vintage.

Thanks to all for the replies . i was told the stocks were original but if i remember correctly it's hard to tell . it is an N prefix . N651282 . there i a little bluing loss at the muzzle on the right side and a light turn line . i do plan on shooting it as that is what i like . i have actually passed on a few NIB revolvers so someone that collects them may get them . now if i can find something prelock in 45 ACP my shooter clan will be pretty much filled but you never know what may come along .hmm , 9mm,10mm and scratch that filled clan . thanks again kind Sirs ,kenny

You sir did very well. 8 bennies is an excellent buy. My N series 6 inch is a couple hundred thousand clicks above yours. I bought it new in 1980 and wouldn't let it go for 10 bennies. Nice job.
