Default Presentation Box Refinish

Not sure if posting correct place. Please move if wrong. Is there anyone currently redoing the felt on presentation boxes? Plastic insert is fine, felt is gone. Also lining in top is missing

There are kits for re flocking. It's not hard.

Flocking Kit 1oz Royal Blue Flock - - Amazon.com
Rule3 is correct, the flocking process is quite easy! However, be very careful! S&W used 4 different type liners from 1960-1985 in the Mahogany cases. Two of these use styrofoam for the preformed liners. The adhesive for the flocking will melt the styrofoam. Originally S&W used flocking on two of these liners and the other two had a material covering the liners, not flocking! Two of these different type liners used foam rubber for a top liner and the flocking will leave a "crust" on top of the foam rubber which cracks after the case is used to store a gun! Do a little research and testing before you flock a set of liners! There are NO replacements for these liners! ! !

If you plan to keep the gun for years, let someone knowledgeable do the flocking. The wrong adhesive used can cause corrosion on the gun, and lead to bad surprises later on.

Joe does great work, I can vouch for that personally, plus he’s great to work with on what you want.

Joe, gave a talk about the different types of presentation cases at the symposium in Ohio a few years ago. I learned a lot from that talk, I even took notes cause I can’t remember much. Too much fun when I was young! Anyway joe has done several cases for me and his work is better than the original manufacture. With the current cost for these cases, I leave all my restoration work to him. His prices are very reasonable.
