Born on date? M 58 nickel
Looking for help dating a gun I'm interested in.
Yoke reads Mod 58 no dash
4" barrel
Factory nickel finish
Pinned & recessed
SN- N273106
Any opinions as to value would also be welcomed.
I will post more pictures as soon as I get the darn computer to cooperate.
I would rate the gun at a solid 95+ %
The stocks do NOT match & have no diamond.

Most likely dates to 1975.

Thank you Bill. What would the correct stocks look like since these don't match the gun SN?

Stocks are correct style for a 1975 M58. Don't lose them.

The last one I saw for sale was $900 (I believe) but it was in the box and that was probably 3 years ago.

A blue example with incorrect stocks and no box hammered at $1775 last week.

..saw that one...if you look at the completed auctions that was an anomaly... There was a S prefix in the box with correct grips that went for only $950.00 about the same time.. The one that sold for big money didn't even have PC grips on it... If you looked at the bidders they had very low numbers...
A nice clean 70s nickel will run $850-1200 depending on condition, grips, box, etc.
There is a very nice S 33XXXX serial number gun on AuctionArms with a BuyNow of $950 that I almost grabbed last night... But I have two so I figured let someone who doesn't have one get it...

My Model 58 nickel with an N 2716XX serial was shipped in September of 1977.
I bought it about three years ago at a gun show. Its pristine, with the correct box (box is not in as good condition as the gun) and I paid $1100. Model 58's are not found for sale every day and nickel ones are even more scarce on the market.
