S&W Model 66 4 inch .357 stainless
I bought this gun in 1976 when I was in the SS and have never fired it. Curious how much it is worth.

A lot of variables and unknowns here, but I will give you the SCSW 4th ed values - ANIB 800, Exc 575, VGC 350. These are low considering the market right now. If you have a true ANIB with all the tools paperwork etc could be more. These are a highly desirable model right now.

I have a no dash 4” 66. It was unfired in the box when I bought it. At least I could find no evidence of use except a few safe dings.
I was watching GB trying to decide if I wanted to sell it and buy a shooter grade.
GB sales ranged from the mid 900 to over $1,200 range.
In the end I decided to keep the gun and shoot it. There was not enough difference between a 95+% used gun in the box and one claiming to be unfired.

With the action opened up is the frame stamped with just 66 or is there a dash after the 66 with a single digit number? (1 or 2 or 3) Do you have the box and tools and instructions? What color are the sights? All of these things have some impact on the value.

Welcome to the forum! The 66 is a very nice carry piece, if you have a mind to..... I carry my no dash quite often. I changed the rear sights to blue, and saved the stainless ones. You could get $1000 (+-) if you chose to sell.

Hello and welcome! If you search our classified section here you'll find a fair number have sold for roughly $650 and up depending on the dash iteration, condition and what if anything went with the gun (box, tools, paperwork).
It's a highly desireable revolver in the 4" and 2.5" barrels especially. The rarer older 3" guns (-2) can easily exceed $1000. Of course condition is everything. We love photos here so if you can post some that would help and be prepared to have your inbox flooded with offers
