Default 48-4 8&3/8 Comments?

Trying to get a little info on value and dating and anything else you'd care to add. May have the box, but haven't found it yet...

Neat long barrel!
Someone has put fixed sight “PC” Magnas on it. I’d guess it was shipped with target grips.

According to the SCSW production was in the 1978/1979 time frame.

Nice gun, but those PC magna stocks are definitely not original. I'd bet it came with standard checkered walnut magna stocks with the squared off bottom, though checkered target stocks are also a possibility.

Interesting... Dad has a box of grips, but I doubt he swapped them out after he bought it. Kind of a long barrel to worry about the bulge under your shirt. Still pretty cool gun I think! Thanks for the education!

The 48s, any dash or barrel length, are in demand. Most of them I see have an asking price around $1000 which seems high but they don't last long when available. The local Cabelas had four of them, different barrel lengths, last February all priced at $999. I bought the oldest one and the other three were gone shortly thereafter. The correct grips are readily available (eBay) (non diamond magnas for under $50) or targets for $100ish. No reason not to leave it just as your Dad had it though, if it was mine that's what I would do. Nice gun, enjoy.
