Based on today's market, what is a NIB, pristine 19-4, 4" P&R , 3 T, tools and docs worth?
Thanks

Blue $1100 nickel $1500.
My experience, actual results may vary.

I'd like to say $850, but I know I'm low.
Wishful thinking on my part.

You might find it at that price, but not on GB, where there are a few guns and a ton of buyers.
I bet there are pawn shops and LGS's that have deals, just have to find them.

Oh yes, that could go much, much higher on GB. I get a kick out of bidding my absolute max and then watching the final price come in at double or more what I bid.
$850 was the last really nice one that I found locally, but it was not "new-in-box-with-everything."

I'd have to go with $1000. The box, docs, and tools don't seem to bring much of a premium here on the later model Smiths.

Two different LNIB bright blue 4" 19-4s have sold on GB in the past two weeks. One brought $1525, the other $1700. One standard blue brought $1299. Nickel versions also LNIB are bringing the same amount.

Prices right now are crazy high. A true, NIB 19-4, with correct box and tools that would normally go for $800 are now going for well over $1000. We live in crazy times.

If they sold for that on GB, I'd say the actual market value for a nice M19-4 3T with box and goodies is about $850-$950. GB is like Mecum car auction for guns, they've driven the price up well beyond some guns' worth.
I paid $800 four years ago for a like-new M19-3 3T with box from a LGS as a consignment sale. It dates to 1972.

I sold a like new 19-4 4" blue, gun only 3 years ago for $1000. Quality always brings more.

Depends on your plans for the money it would bring I guess.
And it sounds like it could bring an awful lot of money on GB!
Out of my league for sure, but the very thought of it does have me drooling.

Pete, I will be honest. I knew that S&W offered both standard blue and bright blue finishes at some point. I was unaware that the bright blue finish could still be ordered as late as a 19-4. I have a 19-4 that I would rate as "nice", but it is fairly easy to see the difference in my standard blue vs one in bright blue.
I am pretty sure that a Model 19 was never offered in matte blue similar to a HP.
Here is the link to the one that brought $1700 just a few days ago. For all intents and purposes, this gun was/is new.

Thank you very much for that information. That is mine to a T. 99%+, no upside. The difference being that mine has better wood. I also do not think the gun on GB was exactly as shipped. The grips were marked as ST, which I would consider to be smooth target, unless someone has a better reason for an ST marking. Thank you for the effort to help...........Pete

I believe the ST stands for Square Target.

Pete-The question is does your 19-4 have presentation aka smooth target stocks. My 19-3 box just says T on the label for grips, and BT for finish. It has checkered target grips. Same with a 66 box I have.
