28-2 White Plastic Grips???
Just took possession of a 28-2 from 1974/77 (serial N2358**) that came with white plastic grips?? and a Tyler grip insert.
I took 'em off and replaced them with rubber Pachmayr N frame grips that were in my spares box. I'll be looking for something in wood target grips shortly. (I'll need to research what the original grips were.)
But I'm wondering if anyone can identify the ones in the pictures. They have a very faint S&W logo in the rondels but no other marks anywhere. They need a good scrub.
I'll post a few pics of the gun later.

Nice grab!
Your gun most likely shipped with Magnas (no diamond center), but "football" relief targets (no diamond) would also be correct for the period.
no idea about the plastic grips it came with, but that grip adapter looks like a BK, with its 2 sets of tabs.

The panels appear to be molded using a set of 1910 decade N frame service stocks as a pattern. No idea on the maker, however.

99.9% of all the rounds fired thru my 28-2 were while it was wearing a set of Pachmayr grips.
There were the perfect fit for rabbit hunting.
Today it wears a set of Target grips while resting on my nightstand.
These are not football Targets.
I had these football Targets on it for a while but I like the darker ones better.

Here's mine wearing the magnas I bought it with, and a set of Football Targets nearby. I believe either one of these would be what you are looking for.

There was a post on this forum about some white resin, experimental grips that S&W made back in pre war years.
Make sure you research these good before you let them go.

Some folks like a white grip and more power to 'em.
For my perspective this may be one of the few cases where a Pachmayer grip was a visual improvement.
No need to stay with factory grips, unless you want to .That gun will look great with anything you slap on it.

Those white grips kind of look like fake ivory.

There is a company that makes grips that look like factory panels that are molded out of plastic. I know they have a website, but I don't remember any of the details, sorry.

Seems to me, I remember about such a company. I think they also make butt plates for rifles. How does N C Ordnance or North Carolina Ordnance sound? I will try to look them up
